| Shakespeare’s famed Ophelia came to life as a character of Auteur because she signifies an overly passionate and poetic spirit we felt graciously embodied the blend of our vineyards.
VINEYARD COLLABORATION
Ophelia is a distinct blend of four cool climate vineyard sites from both Oregon and California. The collaboration is representative of our acclaimed Shea Vineyard “Back Block” site, Hyland and Rose Rock vineyards, all of which are located in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and additionally, Manchester Ridge vineyard, perched on the Mendocino coastline overlooking the Pacific. Whole cluster fermentations lend to a unique blend, incorporating the velvety, wild berry and spicy characters attributed to our Oregon vineyards and the indulgent texture provided by the California coast site of Manchester Ridge. |

WINEMAKER'S NOTES
Alluring mineral, dried herb, and pipe smoke aromas accentuate the briary wild berry and chocolate undertones. Beautiful integrated tannins melt into bright brambly black fruit lifted with elements of wet stone and deep lavender. Commanded by great acidity and structure, take time with this wine to enjoy its distinctiveness.
