Morning Pick at The Donum Estate in
Carneros
DONUM VINEYARD
Auteur’s Donum designate wine comes from the classic Old Wente Clone established on the
estate in 1974. This wine is crafted with 100% Old Wente offering its signature acidic framework
with vibrant floral and stone fruit aromatics and a lingering mineral finish. Managed by veteran
viticulturist, Anne Moller-Racke, Donum Estate sits in Sonoma’s cool Carneros appellation
where rattling winds slow the ripening process creating delicate and graceful wines.

THE WINEMAKING
Hand picked on October 17th of 2006, the fruit was hand sorted, whole cluster pressed and
barrel fermented in French cooperage. Both fermentations, primary and malolactic, were by
native yeast and aged sur lies with batonnage. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.
WINEMAKER'S NOTES
Rich floral aromatics of white lilac and honeysuckle, weave into citrus tones, fig and baked
apples with high notes of minerality. On the palate, the round, textural, satiated mouthfeel is
enticed with a yin-yang of penetrating flavors. Fresh with acidity and refined tannins, the
Donum again, gracefully winds into a lasting, lingering mineral finish, classic of the Old Wente
Clone.
